SSI Open Water Diver

The SSI Open Water Diver course allows you to become an internationally certified diver, ready to dive up to 18 meters with a buddy, combining theory, pool practice, and sea dives

Structure and Content

The course is composed of three main parts: theory, pool or confined water training, and open water dive sessions.

During the training, you will learn essential diving techniques, safety procedures , and how to handle your gear.

The theory can be conducted online through E-learning or in the classroom, with access to the SSI Open Water Diver digital manual.

Final exam: Can be taken online or in-store on paper.

Pool/confined water training you practice adaptation to the aquatic environment, buoyancy, breathing, and equipment handling.

Open water dives at least 4 dives, putting pool learning into practice, exploring the underwater environment up close, and gaining confidence to dive safely.
Minimum age: 10 years (Junior) or 15 years for standard Open Water Diver
Health: A medical certificate of good health is required

 

Duration and Cost


Between 3 to 4 days With flexible schedule.

500€, including standard equipment, insurance, educational materials, and digital international SSI certification

 

The certification is lifelong, and it can be the first step toward advanced courses, specialties, or diving experiences anywhere in the world.

 

It is recommended to do additional dives to gain practical experience and comfort
